Bohemia Interactive has released their latest patch for ARMA II: Operation Arrowhead, to coincide with the release of their first DLC pack British Armed Forces. Among some of the other change, the patch also includes the units, vehicles and weapons of the DLC pack albiet with much lower resolution textures and lower quality sounds.

Sometimes companies do a really good job on console ports, such as the first Assassin's Creed for the PC which arguably has better controls for Mouse and Keyboard than the gamepad. Not so with Saint's Row 2. Although the game itself is passable on the PC it has major issues on Windows 7 systems, issues what Volition, makers of the game, were unwilling to address.

Two members of the Saint's Row 2 PC Modding community have come to the rescue releasing a patch for the game that, in addition to fixing the Windows 7 speedup issue, also adds a bunch of new content to the game.

Well done guys!

GTA IV has been patched. Most noticeably the Rockstar Social Club app was removed, you still have to click play, but it won't be running in the background anymore. Yay! Also, shadows have been fixed and no longer look all cross-hatchy.

In addition to the patch, the DLC has been released on GFWL and Steam for the PC. I wasn't a huge fan of the base game, I didn't really like Niko much and it just seemed so fucking long. But I'm really enjoying The Lost and The Damned so far.

Looks like there won't be any further support from Codemasters for their ultra-realistic shooter Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising. Pretty pathetic round of support if you ask me, they never implemented the dedicated servers they had hinted at prior to the game's release.

Meanwhile, Bohemia Interactive is still supporting ArmA, 6 months after the release of the sequel ArmA II, with the last patch for ArmA (1.18) due soon.

Press release after the break.

Along with all the other great changes this patch brings (like a distant grass layer which was in ArmA but missing from ArmA 2 until now), patch 1.05 will also feature a new vehicle, the AH-64 Apache attack helicopter, and a new Warfare mode. Video and full press release after the break.
